Flat panels, often known as slab cabinets, feature a flat front. Shaker cabinets have a basic edge trim, contrasting to other cabinet styles with a more decorative edge. Flat panel kitchen cabinets have no trim at all. They may or may not have the hardware, depending on the basic layout of the kitchen.
